Its intervention is usually combined with psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic approaches, which allow for the consolidation of the doctor-patient relationship, as well as a holistic reading of the problem brought to the consultation. Psychiatry thus aims to achieve effective clinical results in the field of mental health, improving patients’ overall quality of life.

At Clínica Terrace by Dr Mara Marques we have Dr Ana Sofia Coutinho, a psychiatrist with a Master’s Degree in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra and a specific Psychiatry Internship from the Vila Nova de Gaia and Espinho Hospital Centre.

Her curricular training also includes:
Training in Morenian Psychodrama Direction, by the Portuguese Psychodrama Society, and in Interpersonal Psychotherapy, by the Academy of Interpersonal Psychotherapy.

Founding member (secretary) and member of the Personality Disorders Section of the Portuguese Society of Psychiatry and Mental Health.

Founding member (psychiatrist in the multidisciplinary assessment team) of the Obesity Surgical Treatment Unit at the Tâmega e Sousa Hospital Centre. Curricular internship at the National Reference Unit for Eating Disorders at the Centro Hospitalar Universitário de São João, in Porto.
